While a physical exam and medical history provide vital clues, diagnostic testing allows us to look beneath the surface, identify the root cause of symptoms, and create a targeted, effective treatment plan.
Our In-House & Specialized Diagnostic Tools
1. In-House Laboratory Testing
We collect blood and urine samples to check complete blood counts, assess organ function, and screen for infectious diseases.
Point-of-Care Testing: Fast, in-hospital testing for urgent situations, giving us immediate results when time is critical.
Reference Laboratories: Used for specialized or complex tests where rapid results are not required.
2. Diagnostic Imaging (X-Rays & Ultrasound)
Non-invasive imaging provides clear views of your pet’s internal organs, chest, abdomen, and skeletal system. It helps us detect:
Heart and lung conditions
Foreign object obstructions in the digestive tract
Internal or bone tumors
Gallstones, bladder stones, and joint disorders
Note: Most pets require only gentle, compassionate restraint during imaging, though mild sedation is available if needed to keep your pet calm and comfortable.
3. In-House Microscopy & Cytology
Examining skin scrapes, ear swabs, and fine-needle aspirates under the microscope helps us quickly evaluate:
Ear infections and skin allergies
Dermatologic conditions
Tumor and mass biopsies
4. Ocular (Eye) Diagnostics
Eye conditions require quick and precise evaluation to prevent long-term damage. We offer specialized vision tests including:
Schirmer Tear Test: Evaluates tear production.
Fluorescein Stain: Identifies corneal scratches or ulcers.
Tonometry: Measures eye pressure to check for glaucoma.
